Facebook Marketplace Fee Calculator
See what a Facebook Marketplace sale actually nets you — the 10% Checkout selling fee, itemized down to your true margin, or $0 if it's a local pickup.
Checkout sales: 10% of item price plus buyer-paid shipping, $0.80 minimum per transaction.
How this is calculated
Facebook Marketplace's Selling Fee applies only to items sold with shipping through Marketplace Checkout: 10% of the entire transaction — item price plus buyer-paid shipping — with an $0.80 minimum per transaction, whichever is larger. Meta's own policy also folds applicable sales tax into that transaction total, but this tool doesn't model tax since it varies by buyer state and passes through rather than costing the seller anything.
Local pickup sales — where the buyer pays in person and the item isn't shipped through Meta's Checkout — aren't a "transaction" under this fee policy at all, so no Selling Fee applies.
True margin is order total minus the Selling Fee — before your original cost for the item or any shipping supplies.

- Selling Fee definition: Meta Commerce Payments Terms — Merchant Policies, which states: "Meta will charge Individual Sellers a fee of 10% per transaction, with a minimum fee of $0.80 ('Selling Fee') ... calculated based on the entire amount of the transaction (including the sale price(s) of good(s), any shipping fees and Applicable Taxes)."
Scope & limitations
Covers the standard 10% / $0.80-minimum Selling Fee on a Checkout (shipped) transaction under Meta's current merchant policy, plus the $0 fee on local pickup. Not modeled: applicable sales tax as part of the fee base (excluded since it varies by jurisdiction and passes through to the state, not a seller cost), the actual cost of shipping supplies or a seller-purchased label beyond what the buyer paid, and Purchase Protection–related refunds or disputes. Treat this as a fee-stack estimate, not a final invoice.

Frequently asked questions
Is Facebook Marketplace's selling fee really 10%, not 5%?
Yes, as of the current fee schedule. Meta raised the Checkout selling fee from 5% (with a $0.40 minimum) to 10% (with a $0.80 minimum) effective April 15, 2024. A lot of older guides and calculators still quote the pre-2024 5% figure — this tool uses Meta's own current merchant policy text.
Does the fee apply to local pickup sales?
No. The Selling Fee only applies to transactions processed through Marketplace Checkout — meaning the sale was shipped and paid for through Meta's payment system. Local pickup and off-platform payment sales aren't a "transaction" under that policy, so there's no Selling Fee.
Is the fee calculated on the item price alone, or item plus shipping?
Item price plus shipping, and per Meta's policy text, applicable taxes too. This calculator includes buyer-paid shipping in the fee base to match Meta's own wording, but doesn't model sales tax since it varies by buyer jurisdiction and — like every other calculator on this site — is treated as a pass-through rather than a seller cost.
What's the $0.80 minimum for?
It's a floor, not an add-on: Meta charges whichever is larger, 10% of the transaction or $0.80. On a $5 item, 10% would be $0.50, so the $0.80 minimum applies instead — meaning very low-priced shipped items lose a larger effective percentage of the sale.
