Fee Calculators
Shopify Fee Calculator
See what a Shopify order actually nets you on the Basic, Grow, or Advanced plan — payment processing, the third-party transaction fee if you skip Shopify Payments, and (optionally) your subscription cost per order.
How this is calculated
Shopify Payments fee is your plan's online card rate — 2.9% + 30¢ (Basic), 2.7% + 30¢ (Grow), or 2.5% + 30¢ (Advanced) — applied to item price plus shipping plus tax collected.
Third-party transaction fee applies only if you use a payment gateway other than Shopify Payments: Shopify charges 2% (Basic), 1% (Grow), or 0.6% (Advanced) of the same order total, on top of whatever your own gateway charges you.
Subscription fee per order is optional: your plan's flat monthly fee divided by the monthly order count you enter, shown as its own line only when you provide that count.
True margin is order total minus every fee line above — before your product cost, packaging, your cost to ship, or app subscriptions.

Scope & limitations
Covers US merchants on the Basic, Grow, and Advanced monthly plans. Not modeled: Shopify Plus (individually negotiated pricing), annual-billing discounts, in-person (POS) card rates, currency conversion fees, and app subscription costs. Treat this as a fee-stack estimate, not a final invoice.

Frequently asked questions
Why do Basic, Grow, and Advanced have different processing rates?
Shopify Payments' online card rate drops as you move up plans — 2.9% + 30¢ on Basic, 2.7% + 30¢ on Grow, 2.5% + 30¢ on Advanced — as part of what the higher monthly fee buys you.
What is the third-party transaction fee?
If you accept payments through a gateway other than Shopify Payments (Stripe, PayPal, Authorize.net, etc.), Shopify charges its own extra fee on top of your gateway's fee — 2% on Basic, 1% on Grow, 0.6% on Advanced — calculated on your order total including tax and shipping. Using Shopify Payments avoids this fee entirely.
Should I include my monthly order count?
It's optional. Leaving it blank shows just the per-order processing math. Filling it in amortizes your plan's flat monthly fee across that many orders and adds it as its own line, so you can see the full cost of doing business on Shopify, not just the card-processing cut.
Why isn't Shopify Plus included?
Plus pricing and payment rates are individually negotiated per merchant rather than published as a fixed schedule, so there's no single citable rate to build a calculator from.
