Walmart Marketplace Fee Calculator

See what a Walmart Marketplace sale actually nets you — the category-based referral fee, itemized down to your true margin.

Informational only, not professional advice. This tool estimates Walmart's published referral fee for self-fulfilled orders; it does not replace your Seller Center payout report or a qualified accountant's advice.

Walmart charges its referral fee on the full amount the buyer pays — item price plus shipping, gift wrap, and any other charges — not just the item price.

How this is calculated

Referral fee is Walmart's cut of the total sales price (item price plus shipping, gift wrap, and other charges), set by category — a flat percentage for most categories, and a tiered rate for others. Walmart uses two different tier mechanics: some categories (Apparel & Accessories, Baby Products, Beauty/Health & Personal Care, Grocery) charge the whole price at one rate based on which band it falls in, while others (Jewelry, Watches, Appliances — Compact, Electronics Accessories, Collectibles, Indoor & Outdoor Furniture, Outdoor Power Tools) apply each rate only to the portion of price within its own band. This calculator follows whichever mechanic Walmart's own schedule specifies per category.

True margin is total sales price minus the referral fee — before your product cost, your cost to ship, or any advertising spend.

Scope & limitations

Covers the referral fee for self-fulfilled orders only. Not modeled: Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) pick/pack/ship and storage fees, the Reduced Referral Fee incentive program, the lower printer-cartridge sub-rate within Office Products, the lower sub-rate for select items within Outdoors Products & Sports, and the seller-approval gating on the Collectibles trading-card/comics/coins/autograph rate. Treat this as a fee-stack estimate, not a final invoice.

Frequently asked questions

Does Walmart Marketplace charge a monthly or listing fee?

No. Walmart publishes zero setup, monthly, or per-listing fees for Marketplace sellers — the referral fee charged when an item sells is the only fee this calculator needs to model for a self-fulfilled seller.

Is there a minimum referral fee per item, like Amazon's $0.30?

No. Walmart's published referral fee schedule doesn't specify a per-item minimum, unlike Amazon's $0.30 floor — so low-priced items aren't penalized the same way.

Why do some categories use two different rates at the same price breakpoint?

Walmart's own fee schedule uses two different tier mechanics depending on the category. For Apparel, Baby Products, Beauty/Health, and Grocery, the entire price is charged at one rate based on which band it falls into. For Jewelry, Watches, and several others, each rate applies only to the slice of price within its own band — like a tax bracket. This calculator applies whichever mechanic Walmart's own wording specifies for each category.

Does this include Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) fees?

No. This calculator covers the referral fee only, for sellers who fulfill their own orders. WFS pick, pack, ship, and storage fees are a separate, weight- and size-based cost that isn't modeled here yet.
