Depop Seller Fees in 2024: The Selling Fee Removal, and What Boosting Really Costs

US sellers pay $0 Depop selling fee since July 15, 2024 — the real cost today is the 3.3% + $0.45 processing fee, and the optional 12% Boosted Listing fee costs a full 12 points of margin, worked on a real $45 sale.

"Depop takes 10%" was the right answer before July 15, 2024. Since then, US sellers pay a flat $0 selling fee on new listings — the entire published cost of a standard Depop sale isn't a platform commission at all anymore, it's the payment processing fee that was always running alongside it.

What actually applies today: $0 selling fee, 3.3% + $0.45 processing

The current US structure has two components: a $0 Depop selling fee, and a 3.3% + $0.45 payment processing fee (via Depop Payments/Stripe) on item price plus shipping. That processing fee is the only non-optional charge on a standard sale — there's no separate platform commission riding alongside it anymore.

Just the old selling fee alone already beats today's total cost

A $40 item with $5 shipping — $45 order total. The old flat 10% selling fee on that sale alone was $4.50, before adding whatever processing fee applied on top of it at the time. Today's total published fee — processing only, no selling fee — comes to $1.94 (3.3% × $45 + $0.45). Even without needing the old processing rate to make the comparison, the removed selling fee alone was already more than double what today's entire fee stack costs.

Boosted Listings are optional — and their real cost is easy to undercount

Depop's optional promotion, Boosted Listings, charges 12% of the order total on top of the standard processing fee. On that same $45 order:

FeeMargin
Standard sale$1.94 (processing only)$43.06 (95.7%)
Boosted sale$7.34 ($1.94 processing + $5.40 boost)$37.66 (83.7%)

Boosting this listing costs 12 full percentage points of margin — treating "12%" as a small add-on rather than what it actually removes from the sale understates it by a wide margin.

What this doesn't cover

Scoped to US sellers. Outside the US, Depop's 10% selling fee still applies, and UK sellers pay a separate 2.9% + £0.30 processing rate — neither is modeled here. The Boosted Listing fee is calculated on item price plus shipping, the common case for sellers not using Depop's own shipping labels; sellers who do use Depop Shipping have a different Boost fee base per Depop's own terms. Applicable taxes are excluded from the fee base, consistent with every other calculator on this site.
